About the network

star-forts.forts.im is part of the ReallyByte network, run by REALLYBYTE, based in the Isle of Man. General information, checked against the sources listed: UNESCO, the Network of Vauban’s Major Sites, English Heritage, Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland, the US National Park Service, Japanese and Dutch tourism bodies, Fortress Bourtange, Visit Palmanova, italia.it and GOV.UK. Things that can change, like opening times and entry, are marked with the date we checked them (3 Nov 2026), and where sources disagree we show both. Always check opening times, access and conditions with the site before you go. Not affiliated with UNESCO, the Network of Vauban’s Major Sites, English Heritage, Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland, the US National Park Service, the Japan National Tourism Organization, the Hakodate or Hokkaido tourism bodies, Fortress Bourtange, Visit Groningen, Visit Palmanova, italia.it, the UK government or any museum. Their names, and the names of the places they look after, are used only to identify the places and sources discussed. All pictures are our own simplified drawings: not reconstructions, not scale plans, and not copied from any site plan, map, guidebook or photograph.
